It is common knowledge that philosophy majors are destined for the McDonalds kitchen. But what if I offered you a dubious pyramid scheme to get rich?
Introducing a “trading card game,” in the same vein of Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Pokemon. While these three are established franchises that leave little space for major competition, ours aims to differ from these in its intellectual approach to a customarily action-oriented game, as well as its ambition of imparting didactic value. We are based in China, and aim to market our game both in our country and worldwide.
Right now the development team consists of 12 high school students attending Tsinglan School, Dongguan, organized into a game design team of 7 people and a visual design team of 5 people.
As this game is in the development phase, it is currently impossible to determine anything regarding profit, but in the event that it does end up generating a steady revenue, a commensurate portion of the revenue will be paid to writers/designers.
Our school has generously provided us with a loan to kickstart the production. This as well as the fact that we have access to Chinese manufacturers and markets, and that we do not need to spend significant money on outsourcing services such as play-testing or graphic design because they are already provided by a group of collaborators in our school, means that the base cost of this project is significantly lower for us.
